Trends in Security Information
The HSD Trendmonitor is designed to provide access to relevant content on various subjects in the safety and security domain, to identify relevant developments and to connect knowledge and organisations. The safety and security domain encompasses a vast number of subjects. Four relevant taxonomies (type of threat or opportunity, victim, source of threat and domain of application) have been constructed in order to visualize all of these subjects. The taxonomies and related category descriptions have been carefully composed according to other taxonomies, European and international standards and our own expertise.
In order to identify safety and security related trends, relevant reports and HSD news articles are continuously scanned, analysed and classified by hand according to the four taxonomies. This results in a wide array of observations, which we call ‘Trend Snippets’. Multiple Trend Snippets combined can provide insights into safety and security trends. The size of the circles shows the relative weight of the topic, the filters can be used to further select the most relevant content for you. Digital identity and the need for an active government
such as a name, BSN or proof that you are over 18, offers great added value and ease of use in doing digital business with each other. To realize plans around digital identity, the Dutch government will have to change course. The developments in the market and at the European level demand a more active government role in creating trust in a digital identity, enabling careful identification, reliable authentication and controlled authorization in a collaborative system.
The road to a digital identity requires not only an integral vision, direction and decisiveness from the government. Because we are increasingly doing business with each other digitally, it also requires a different approach from public and commercial organizations. Digital identities are the key to facilitating citizens and organizations as much as possible, to make their interactions as familiar as possible, to give customers and services an optimal digital experience and at the same time to protect information. By properly leveraging the value of digital identities, organizations can achieve greater efficiency, control and revenue. As a result, not only improved user experience, but also security and privacy protection. As a result, digital identity is a strategic component in the business operations of organizations.
