Valuable Knowledge Exchanged during PIB Germany Mission for Kingsday 2025
A successful mission to Berlin as part of Partners for International Business Germany just wrapped up. A delegation of Dutch organisations visited the city as part of a programme surrounding the celebration of Kingsday in Germany. The goal was to engage in valuable knowledge exchange with local organisations, and to explore potential business opportunities across the border.
A dutch delegation of cybersecurity organisations visited Germany this week as part of a cybersecurity mission to celebrate Kingsday and make connections across the border. The delegation consisted of:

The programme kicked off on 28 April with a visit to the Berlin Chamber of Commerce, where the delegation was invited to a lunch reception, organised in collaboration with the IT-Security Association Berlin-Brandenburg (it’s.BB) and Berlin Partner for Business and Technology. During this informal setting, networking opportunities and valuable discussion took place among the Dutch delegation with Berlin-based IT security companies. Subjects included doing business in Berlin, as well as the state of IT security affairs and regulatory landscape.
Afterwards the group visited Bitkom for a roundtable on European Perspectives on Cybersecurity. Aside from a general discussion, keynotes were provided by the Dutch and Latvian embassy. Jip Mennen of the Dutch Embassy in Berlin spoke about the importance of collaboration between European countries in the current geopolitical era. She stressed risks and threats to critical infrastructure are a pressing reason to improve resilience as soon as possible.
On 29 April the delegation visited GovTech Campus and engaged in discussion about the ecosystem that focuses on the digital transformation of governments. Founded in Berlin, it acts as a bridge between government agencies, technology companies, startups and academic institutions to collaborate on modern, digital solutions for the public sector.
Discussed topics included data sovereignty, cybersecurity and the integration of cloud technologies in the public sector.
Finally, the PIB was invited to the Kingsday Reception at the Dutch Embassy in Berlin. Ambassador Hester Somsen opened the evening and looking back at over 80 years of collaboration between the Netherlands and Germany and expressed the importance of our continued relationship and cooperation, especially in the era of current geopolitical tensions.
