Looking Back: Succesful Trade Mission Digital Tech & Cybersecurity to Sweden
From 20 to 23 May a Dutch delegation visited Sweden as part of the Trade Mission Cyber & Digital Tech. The goal was to bring entrepreneurs into contact with the Dutch market and explore possible collaborations. Sweden is a world leader when it comes to digital skills, but still offers many opportunities in the field of cybersecurity with investments increasing sharply.
The delegation was welcomed on Monday by Annika Annerby Jansson, President of the Regional Development Agency for Skåne. They gathered at Inspira in Lund, and engaged with regional leaders and experts, and participated in matchmaking sessions with Skåne companies. Participants were introduced to the region, and the commercial market in terms of cybersecurity.
The delegation also visited Medicon Village in Lund, a vibrant life science park. Through a varierty of presentations and matchmaking sessions they got to know more about the region and the opportunities it offers. Mobile Heights, Ideon, Lunch Technical University and Halmstad University shared insights into the innovation taking place in the regions of Skåne and Halland.
The core of the mission was the Stockholm Tech Show on 22 May. During this large cyber security conference, an NL pavilion showcased the members of the Dutch delegation. This gave them an opportunity to display their solutions. Showcasing participants were:
- Hudson Cybertec
- Bluefinch
- Arda
- Attic
- Cryptas
- Hackshield
- Keypasco
- ON2IT
- PRODAFT
- Signpost Six
- DVRS
- ThreatFabric
- vBoxx
- Ver.ID
PRODAFT’s Viktória Vargová: “A mission such as this is very valuable to PRODAFT, as we get to strengthen the cyber security cluster as a whole by doing this together with other Dutch cyber security companies. The possibility of traveling to Sweden and meeting relevant parties gives us a strong basis for doing business here in the future. Security Delta (HSD) and InnovationQuarter play an important role in enabling this, by creating the right conditions and improving our market opportunities.”
After the conference the delegation was welcomed at the Dutch Embassy, where a group of Swedish knowledge partners and entrepeneurs were invited. Ambassador Bengt van Loosdrecht was enthusiastic to enable collaboration by bringing together Dutch and Swedish parties, as mutual innovation and collaboration are necessary to combat societal threats we face in our digitising society.
