National Cyber Security Centre Opens National Cyber Security Operations Centre, Extending Its Public-Private Network Approach
On January 1st 2015 the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) upgraded its guarding services to a National Cyber Security Operations Centre (NCSOC). This means that the NCSC from now on is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as a hotline. It is capable of identifying new threats and vulnerabilities as well as providing its network with warnings and information. In case of emergency it has become possible to scale up and come to a joint analysis and incident approach quickly.
The aim of the NCSOC is to achieve an integrated approach to cyber threats. Sharing threat information through the network leads to a more complete picture of the digital risks around us. Additionally, by combining specific cyber expertise together, we are able, where necessary, to respond adequately and timely to cyber incidents related to for example critical infrastructure.
