Looking Back at a Successful 2026 Dutch Cyber Delegation Mission to CYBERSEC Taiwan
From 4–8 May 2026, a Dutch cyber delegation visited Taipei to participate in CYBERSEC Taiwan, strengthening the long-standing collaboration between the Netherlands and Taiwan in cybersecurity innovation, knowledge exchange, and economic cooperation. Building on two successful previous missions, the delegation focused on fostering industry collaboration, research exchange, and innovation partnerships between both ecosystems. Centered around the theme “Resilient Future”, Cybersec 2026 brought together global cybersecurity leaders, innovators, and practitioners to exchange insights and strengthen cyber resilience.
The programme struck a balance between conference participation, strategic 1-on-1 meetings, joint visits, and gaining historical insight into the relationship between Taiwan and the Netherlands. It brought together global cybersecurity leaders, technology innovators, and practitioners to exchange perspectives, share proven practices, and strengthen real-world resilience. Among the participants were HSD partners CFLW Cyber Strategies and Keypasco.
The conference was further enriched by dedicated focus zones, including the Cyber Taiwan Pavilion, which highlighted local innovation and R&D achievements; the Cyber Talent Zone, designed to empower the next generation of cybersecurity professionals; and the AIoT & Hardware Security Zone, addressing the growing challenges surrounding intelligent connectivity and hardware security. Through cross-disciplinary collaboration and collective defense, the event aimed to strengthen cyber resilience.
Together with partners including the Netherlands Office Taipei and InnovationQuarter, the mission focused on:
- Supporting two-way market access and identifying new business opportunities
- Strengthening cyber resilience through complementary AI hardware and software capabilities
- Facilitating public–private knowledge exchange and innovation partnerships
- Exploring opportunities for joint R&D collaboration and funding
Strengthening existing cooperation
Meetings with the Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR), the Supreme Prosecutors Office, and the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (MJIB) further strengthened existing collaborations and highlighted the value of current solutions in the areas of Dark Web Monitoring, Crypto-Asset Analytics, and BigPhish. Several concrete follow-up actions and future collaboration opportunities were identified during the discussions.
Building Stronger Cybersecurity Propositions
Throughout CYBERSEC Taiwan, discussions focused on advancing secure-by-design principles and exploring new collaborative project opportunities. This included exchanges during the high-level dinner hosted by Netherlands Representative Bas Pulles and the Association of Hackers in Taiwan, as well as strategic meetings with Keypasco.
Expanding Towards an Operational Presence in Taiwan
Visits to the cyber range at the Tainan Cybersecurity Excellence Center and Fort Zeelandia, combined with dedicated matchmaking sessions and in-depth partnership discussions with Keypasco, marked an important step from initial exploration towards establishing a stronger operational presence in Taiwan.
The conversations and engagements throughout the week reinforced a shared ambition between both ecosystems: building a resilient future through cybersecurity by design, an ambition that reaches far beyond national borders.
