To keep the Netherlands a digital frontrunner in Europe, companies, consumers and governments must respond faster and more innovative to the fast pace at which society and the economy are digitizing. To do so, The Dutch Cabinet has published an update of the Dutch Digitization Strategy on 25 June. Announcing additional funding for artificial intelligence (AI) and providing an overview of other investments in technologies, digitization of business and government, digital skills of the Dutch and cyber security.

The Dutch AI Coalition will receive 23.5 million euros to kickstart the coalition and do research into and the development of AI applications. The coalition has developed a Dutch approach to AI and aims for a public-private investment of two billion euros in seven years.

Kees van der Klauw, NL AIC Coalition Manager: "We are very pleased with this message and will work as a coalition for an optimal result of this investment."
