PublicSonar and RapidSOS Partner to Provide Real-time Social Media Intelligence to 911 Centers
PublicSonar, an AI software company, and RapidSOS announced a partnership to provide 911 telecommunicators the ability to access real-time social media intelligence within RapidSOS Portal. This solution for Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs) provides critical data to enhance incident response.
With this partnership, PublicSonar also joins the RapidSOS Partner Network, a community of public safety software companies that are “RapidSOS Ready,” delivering their product offerings through RapidSOS to unify public safety tools and resources onto one platform.
The PublicSonar and RapidSOS joint solution will enable 911 telecommunicators to access relevant social media posts, pictures, and videos during an active emergency. The “PublicSonar Social Media Intelligence” product aims to improve situational awareness for ECCs, empower better and faster response, and enhance public safety and security.
With relevant social media data at their fingertips, telecommunicators will have increased visibility into incidents, which empowers a better-informed emergency response, according to Dave Sehnert, Director of NG911 Strategy and Partnerships.
Sjors van den Dries, CEO of PublicSonar: “Real-time data sources, including social media, are invaluable for assessing risks and threats. Today’s connected citizens are ‘eyes-on-scene’ before first responders arrive. Their social posts, pictures, and videos can quickly improve situational awareness. PublicSonar cuts through the noise with advanced AI and geolocation filters to provide actionable insights into emergency situations. We’re delighted to partner with RapidSOS to provide ECCs and responders with improved situational awareness to help save lives.”
Dave Sehnert, Director of NG911 Strategy and Partnerships at RapidSOS, said that RapidSOS partnered with PublicSonar to bring innovative, life-saving technology to ECCs across the country. "With relevant social media data at their fingertips, telecommunicators will have increased visibility into incidents, which empowers a better-informed emergency response.”
In addition to relevant Twitter posts being displayed directly within RapidSOS, PublicSonar allows users to launch a PublicSonar social media dashboard from RapidSOS. The dashboard shows additional data, including incident-related messages, visuals, and timelines from multiple social media channels.
