Indo Dutch Cyber Security School 2020
From the end of September to the middle of November 2020, the third edition of the Indian Dutch Cyber Security School (#IDCSS), formely known as The Hague India Cyber Security Summer School (NICSSS), will take place. The Indian Dutch Cyber Security School promotes the education of students and professionals on cybersecurity issues, while facilitating the increased cooperation of The Netherlands, specifically the Municipality of The Hague, with the Indian states of Telangana and Karnataka. The School’s programme allows participants to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of cyber security concepts and aspects. During the programme, participants will have the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest experts in the field about the latest developments and cutting edge cyber security technologies that exist today and will work on assignments provided by notable Dutch and Indian organisations.
Cyber security is of international significance since the cyberspace, including the Internet, has led to economic growth and inclusiveness of populations. A growing number of cyber harassments, cyber bullying, disinformation, and other forms of cyber attacks threaten individuals, businesses and states everyday. This is excacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Cyber attacks are not only aimed against individuals but also against national institutions and health oirganisations, threatening to disable the proper function of national critical infrastructures and the daily functioning of society. During the School, partipants will be instructed on cyber security-related topics, covering areas such as ethics, accountability, hardware security, incidents' response, data protection, norms and governance. Central to this year's edition of the School will be the topics of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Critical Infrastructures (CI). Parallel to the courses, group assignments - also known as "challenges" - are going to be assigned and executed by small, multidisciplinary groups of students. Our partners will design the challenges and judge the final result presented by the students in the end of the programme. The Indian Dutch Cyber Security School 2020 will run online, due to the unprecedented circumstances created by the coronavirus pandemic. The courses and the challenges will be conducted through Blackboard. For more details, please check the course information on the website of IDCSS.
