Collaboration NL-Germany: Facing Cyber Threats Together
On 26 April, Dutch and German cybersecurity leaders came together to strengthen collaboration in the field and share knowledge. The event took place in the baroque Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich and is part of the Partners for International Business (PIB) cybersecurity Germany. PIB is a three-year programme by a cluster of Dutch cybersecurity companies to enter the German market and set up collaborations to help improve the level of cybersecurity in both Germany and the Netherlands.
During the event the attendees were treated to keynote speeches by Dr. Michael Guntsch, Engineering Director at the Google Safety Center in München and Job Kuijpers, CEO and co-founder of leading European cybersecurity and Insurtech firm Eye Security. They shared their insights on the state of cybersecurity in their respective countries, highlighting the latest developments in cyberthreats and the approach to them. The speakers emphasised the need for increased collaboration between the government and the private sector to better defend against new types of threats and how to mitigate their impact.
Afterwards the foyer was opened for the guests to have a small bite, network with each other and to meet the PIB companies. As last segment, the event featured a Bitkom hosted panel discussion on German-Dutch collaboration and implementation of EU regulations on cyber in national contexts. Featuring expert panelists from both the Netherlands and Germany, including both the public and private perspectives.
Finally, attendees were welcomed at the annual King’s Day grand networking event at Schloss Nymphenburg, organised by the Businessclub Deutschland Niederlande and the Consulaat-Generaal van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in München. Featuring the traditional ‘haringwagen’, this evening brought together over 300 people from within the Dutch-German network in the region.
The event is organised by the Consulaat-Generaal van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in München, Bitkom, Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), InnovationQuarter and Security Delta (HSD) in close collaboration with the PIB Germany participants: Compumatica, Codean, EclecticIQ, Guardian360, Hudson Cybertec, Secquard, Secumailer, SonicBee, Ubiqu, Zynyo.
