On 12 May, we have welcomed 10 international journalists, who are members of the BPV-FPA Foreign Press Association of the Netherlands, at the HSD Campus. We addressed the importance of collaboration to build a cyber resillient world and the eco-system in The Hague, international city of Peace, Justice and Security.

Joris den Bruinen (HSD) introduced them to the Dutch security cluster, trends and developments regarding the cybersecurity landscape. Followed by Daan Rijnders (municipality of the Hague) addressing the topic of cyber resilient cities and a programme to help NGO’s with their cyber resilience.

Also, concrete examples were discussed:

  • Saskia Lensink of TNO, talked about their collaboration with SURF and Netherlands Forensic Institute NFI to create GPT-NL a Dutch and transparant language model.
  • The role of the ‘Digital Forensics lab’ of Leiden University of Applied Sciences and the international forensic search engine ‘Hansken’ developed by the NFI was illustrated by Jos Griffioen
  • Suhas Gopinath of Globals gave insights in the urgent need to safeguard our satellite infrastructure.

We are all aware there is much more to share within the security cluster in The Hague, but we are happy that we have started to share our focus and thoughts.
