General Director Joris Den Bruinen Took the Stage During European Deeptech Week in Paris
This week, Paris became the epicenter of Europe’s deeptech ecosystem, connecting decision-makers across innovation, industry, finance, and policy. Designed as a structured journey from breakthrough research to industrial scale and growth, the week culminated with the Deeptech Summit, where strategic alignments were forged and Europe’s next technological alliances took shape. On Thursday, Security Delta (HSD) General Director Joris den Bruinen took the stage to share how collaboration is essential to strengthening cyber resilience in an increasingly connected world.
Building cyber resilience in The Hague
Den Bruinen discussed a recent example: The NATO Summit in The Hague, where attention was not only focused on public order, but also on cybersecurity. For four days, a dedicated cyber war room brought together the Nationaal Cyber Security Centrum (NCSC-NL), Politie Nederland, intelligence services, the municipality’s CISO office and 17 Dutch cybersecurity companies. By collectively monitoring the digital landscape and coordinating responses, the team was able to take immediate action when needed to help safeguard the summit.
Another important announcement was shared internationally for the first time: the Netherlands will develop a National Cyber Campus in The Hague. The municipality has acquired a building to establish the ‘House of Cyber’, a 40,000 m² hub that will bring together organisations such as the Nationaal Cyber Security Centrum (NCSC-NL), Politie Nederland, Ministerie van Defensie, TNO, Security Delta (HSD) and other cybersecurity companies. The initiative is inspired by Campus Cyber in Paris and aims to strengthen collaboration, innovation and cyber resilience.
Ultimately, strengthening cyber resilience requires collaboration across sectors and borders. By bringing together startups, investors, governments and knowledge institutions, we can accelerate innovation and build safer, more resilient societies.
