First CW Greenport Cybercafé on Incident Response

Today the first Cybercafé of the Cyber Resilience Center Greenport was held at Anthura in Bleiswijk. The theme of the meeting was Incident Response, in other words: how to deal with a data breach or cyber-attack. Patrick Hakvoort of Anthura talked about the hack at the Chinese branch two years ago. In addition, the more than 50 attendees received practical tips on how to deal with a cyber-attack. The chain (suppliers and customers) of Anthura and participants of the CW Greenport were invited to the event.

During the Cybercafés, the community behind the cyber resilience center comes together to share knowledge and experiences as well as networking. Several experts speak about a specific cybersecurity topic and there is room for discussion and questions. This way, as a chain, we can learn from and with each other in an informal environment.

Anthura suffered a ransomware attack in 2021 at their branch in Kunming.

Patrick Hakvoort: "Hackers entered via an old climate computer that was still running old versions of control and acquisition software. They first investigated how and when they could best attack us. Then the ransom message appeared on a computer. Fortunately, an attentive employee did the only right thing: pull out the network cables but leave the power cable in place, which averted the hack and thus only partially did its damage.”

The event was organised by Anthura and CW Greenport and is partly made possible by MRDH, programme 'Sectoraal Digitaal Veilig'.
