Bird & Bird

Bird & Bird is at the forefront of the interchange between the law and new technology. Today more than ever, technology is changing the way we live and work. As we hand more and more decision making power to machines and global information platforms enable mass data mining and information control, the risks and opportunities of new developments affect society and the law must respond and shape itself to deal with these developments. New legislation follows these developments – albeit not always at the pace we would prefer.

At the fourth edition of InnovatingNL, on 30 May 2018, we add two angles to the interchange between law and new technology: on the one hand the more conceptual role of ethics, on the other hands practical solutions and take-aways for your businesses.

Join us as we explore how legislators and society can (and do) deal with this increasing complexity and newly enabled human behavior, such as employee monitoring, taxes on robot labour, enabling autonomous vehicles, the control over the flow of information and fake news, access to innovative medicines, and risk management & insurance in the digital era.
