Subsidies for SMEs To Investigate Whether New Innovations are Technically and Economically Feasible
The province of South Holland believes it is important that entrepreneurs in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) receive support. Therefore, they have set up subsidies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to investigate whether new ideas and plans (innovations) are technically and economically feasible. This subsidy can be used to develop a new product or service. You can apply for this subsidy from April 7 through September 15, 2026.
The subsidy may be useful to carry out a feasibility study. This is a project in which you investigate whether an idea or plan is technically and economically feasible. Are you working on such a feasibility project? If so, you can apply for the MIT Feasibility Projects subsidy!
Eligible activities
You can receive subsidies for feasibility projects to investigate whether a new idea or plan is technically and economically feasible. There is €2.7 million in subsidies available per year. You will receive a maximum of 35% of the costs you incur. The province of South Holland do not award subsidies exceeding €20,000.
Requirements
You will only receive this subsidy if you meet the following requirements:
- You are an SME with an office in South Holland. This is also stated in your registration with the Chamber of Commerce.
- You are not a "company in difficulty." This means that your finances must be in good order. Your feasibility project is a preparation for the development of a new or improved product, process, or service.
- You clearly demonstrate how your project is to be carried out and how it fits within the MIT assessment framework 2026.
- Your project will start within 4 months after you know you will receive the grant.
- You will complete your project within one year.
Companies that collaborate with you or are at least 25% affiliated with you also count as applicants. This means that you can only apply for a subsidy once per year in total. If you do apply for multiple subsidies, you will be rejected all applications. Sometimes, exceptions can be made. For example, if your company is affiliated with someone who helps start-ups.
