The Cybersecurity Week 2026 officially kicked off at the HSD Campus in the morning of 5 October. International delegations from over 13+ countries took part in a tailored programme to give them an in-depth introduction to the Dutch cyber security ecosystem. A warm welcome to delegations from India, Canada, UK, Spain, France, Denmark, Taiwan, Sweden, Portugal, Austria, Australia, Belgium, United States, Finland, Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary.

Martijn Van Hoogenhuyze kicked off the morning by welcoming participants and setting the scene for the day ahead, giving an overview of the programme and what participants could look forward to. The participants were then welcomed to the City of Peace, Justice and Security by Marijn Fraanje (Municipality of The Hague). Joris den Bruinen (General Director Security Delta (HSD)) provided the audience with a brief introduction on HSD and its activities in The Hague and beyond.

Tijs Koops (Digital Holland) then took the stage to welcome the participants and share a few words about the National Technology Strategy and Secure by Design. Later this morning, Philip Meijer (InnovationQuarter) and Anastasia de Vries (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO)) will highlight the opportunities and developments shaping the Dutch Cyber Business Climate.

After a nice lunch, two rounds of speed dating sessions (Cyber Salsas) were organised to allow all participants to get to know one another better. Across two dynamic rounds, participants introduced themselves and their organisations, quickly identifying shared interests and opportunities for collaboration. After 45 minutes, the groups rotated, creating fresh connections and opening the door to even more conversations.

The programme concluded with networking drinks and bites at Scheveningen Beach! It was a fantastic and energetic first day to the Cybersecurity Week, a big thanks to all participants, moderators, and speakers!
