On Monday the 24th of January, Security Delta was honored to welcome Chargé d’Affaires Marja Verloop and her team at the HSD Campus. During the visit, Security Delta introduced Chargé Verloop and her team to the Roadmap Cybersecurity U.S. and further expanded on past and upcoming NL-U.S. collaboration and events in the field of (cyber)security. Additionally, there was a valuable open discussion on furthering our connections in business, research, and innovation, as well as support and know-how for businesses looking to expand in both the U.S. and NL. The visit once again underscored the strong partnership between the Netherlands and the U.S. and the many opportunities to collaborate in the future.

The Roadmap Cybersecurity U.S.

The Roadmap Cybersecurity U.S. was created during the 2018-2020 period in close cooperation between the Dutch cyber sector, the Netherlands enterprise agency (RVO), the Netherlands Embassy and Consular network in the U.S., and policymakers in The Hague from various ministries. This document builds on a number of ongoing initiatives in the U.S. and envisions an integrated approach for the coming years.

Because of the warm relations between the Netherlands and the U.S., there are already many good partnerships. The Roadmap Multi-Year Program Cybersecurity U.S. 2020 - 2023 bundles existing activities and partnerships and complements them with new ones. This creates better coordination of activities, with less fragmentation and more focus.

The roadmap focuses on 3 main objectives; Improving access for NL companies to the U.S. market; increasing the number of U.S. partners that structurally commit to the location of the Netherlands as a gateway for cybersecurity in Europe; and strengthening scientific cooperation. U.S.-NL collaboration coming up

2022 will once again be a promising year for U.S.-NL collaboration in the field of cybersecurity. We started the year off strong with a very valuable cybersecurity & fintech-focused roundtable with key speakers from New York City and the Netherlands. Later this year, the cybersecurity Partners for International Business (PIB) program focused on the U.S. will be launched. In June, a large Dutch delegation will travel to the RSA conference in San Francisco to connect, engage with, and learn from the most innovative players in the worldwide cybersecurity field. In August, HSD will host the International Cyber Security Summer School in the Hague. To learn more about the U.S.-NL events and activities coming up, read here.
