Deep-tech cybersecurity company P-X Systems has secured an investment from SecFund, Damen Maritime Ventures and Savin Capital Partners. The Dutch company has developed an innovative technology that enables cyber threats and attacks to be monitored and detected without relying on network connections. The investment will be used to accelerate the company's launch into the European market.

Founded ten years ago in Amsterdam, P-X Systems is a prime example of dual-use technology. Through its Operational Technology (OT) Security solutions, the company focuses on protecting critical infrastructure, including bridges and locks, energy systems, and defence assets, making its technology applicable in both civilian and military environments. In doing so, P-X Systems contributes directly to the goal of greater strategic autonomy and a safer, more resilient society.

Its unique combination of hardware and software provides an integrated solution that continues to operate even when digital communications are disrupted. P-X Systems' technology enables real-time, air-gapped communication, meaning it functions entirely independently of digital networks such as the internet. The company plays a vital role in helping organisations comply with the NIS2 cybersecurity directive, which is becoming mandatory for entities operating in critical sectors including energy, food, transport, and government services.

SecFund

SecFund, a partnership between the Dutch Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, and the regional development agencies (ROMs), focuses specifically on dual-use companies. These are businesses that develop products or services with applications in both the civilian and defence sectors. The nationwide fund is managed by the Brabant Development Agency (BOM) in collaboration with the other regional development agencies.

For SecFund, this investment is particularly significant because OT security is a relatively young and rapidly growing field. There are currently no dominant players in Europe, giving leading providers such as P-X Systems a genuine opportunity to establish a leading position in the market.

Wynne, founder of P-X Systems: “The investment from SecFund, Damen Maritime Ventures and Savin Capital Partners aligns with our tenth anniversary. It underlines the growth ambitions of P-X Systems. It enables us to serve an increasing number of customers in high-security environments.”

The investment by Damen Maritime Ventures in P-X Systems addresses a growing societal and security challenge. As maritime operations become increasingly digitalised and interconnected, the importance of robust OT security is rising significantly, including in the civilian market. P-X Systems is well positioned to play a relevant role in the customer base and markets in which Damen operates. Through this investment in the Dutch company P-X Systems, Damen, together with private and public partners, aims to actively contribute to today’s security challenges.

Bas Emmerig, Savin Capital Partners: “We are investing in P-X Systems because it offers a unique, European and sovereign OT security solution at a time when AI-driven threats are becoming rapidly more complex and large-scale. Operators of critical infrastructure must maintain continuous visibility of their systems and remain operationally resilient, especially in environments that are not connected or may be compromised. P-X provides a simple and distinctive solution for this.”
