Horizon Europe 2026-27: €130 Million in EU Funding for Research

The European Commission has published the new Horizon Europe Work Programme for Cluster 3: Civil security for society covering the period from 2026 to 2027! This Work Programme highlights upcoming EU funding opportunities for research and innovation, including dedicated calls focused on cybersecurity. The cybersecurity calls open on 3 March and close on 15 September 2026.

Over the coming years, Horizon Europe will make around €130 million available in funding opportunities for cybersecurity related projects. The cybersecurity calls open on 3 March and close on 15 September 2026 and are listed under the heading “Indirectly Managed Actions by the ECCC” on page 155 of the document. 

Aim

The funding's overarching goals are:

• To strengthen the EU's scientific and technological bases and the European Research Area (ERA);
• To boost Europe's innovation capacity, competitiveness and jobs;
• To deliver on citizen's priorities and sustain our socio-economic model and values.
