On 26 - 29 May 2026, a Dutch cybersecurity delegation travelled to Gothenburg, Sweden, bringing together cybersecurity companies, researchers, government representatives, AI experts, and industry leaders from both the Netherlands and Sweden. The mission provided a unique opportunity to exchange perspectives on some of the most important topics shaping our digital future, including OT security, cyber resilience, digital sovereignty, secure AI and critical infrastructure protection.

Organised by the Dutch Embassy in Sweden, InnovationQuarter, and ROM Utrecht Region, the mission provided Dutch and Swedish organisations a special forum to share insights and information on some of the most important issues influencing our digital future. The Dutch delegation included organisations such as OT-Secure, Zivver, DMARC Advisor, ReConfirm, Vooruit, DataExpert, CYSO, Key2XS, Opus Logic, and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency.

The mission kicked off with presentations from Business Region Göteborg, providing participants with an introduction to the city, its innovation ecosystem, and the wider region. This was followed by a cybersecurity seminar and roundtable discussion focused on OT security and digital sovereignty, enabling Dutch and Swedish experts to exchange insights on some of today's most pressing cybersecurity challenges.

The second day began with a company visit to AstraZeneca. As one of the world's leading biopharmaceutical companies, AstraZeneca develops innovative medicines across a range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiovascular diseases, immunology, and rare diseases. Its Gothenburg site serves as one of the company's global strategic R&D centres, employing more than 3,000 people from around 70 countries and supporting the full lifecycle of medicines, from early-stage research and clinical development to manufacturing and global commercialisation.

The programme continued with a series of presentations and a visit to the AI Sweden Labs. These collaborative innovation environments bring together companies, researchers, and public-sector organisations to develop and test AI solutions in real-world settings. The labs focus on themes such as secure AI, mobility, language models, and data sharing, helping to accelerate the practical adoption of AI across industries.

The final days of the mission centred around participation in Security Fest, one of Scandinavia's leading cybersecurity conferences. Here, participants engaged with international experts, attended technical sessions, explored emerging cybersecurity trends, and expanded their professional networks within the Nordic cybersecurity ecosystem.
