Hack the Power Grid: Masterclass & hack-demo

Datum:
10 november 2026
Locatie:
The Green Village, Co-Creation Centre
Organisator:
The Green Village & DIVD (Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure)

Think you can outsmart professional white-hat hackers?

As our power grid decentralizes, small weaknesses can have big consequences. Providers of energy management systems and batteries play a key role in protecting their systems and the wider grid from malicious attacks. Are you a student who can hack into software or hardware at the edge of the grid?

Before our hack-event kicks off, participating students are invited on 10 November to learn how to pitch their hacks to system owners and the jury. On 24 November and 3 December, 30 students will go head-to-head with professional white-hat hackers. Your mission: hack the participating energy management and battery systems. Are you ready to take on this challenge?

Compete for a total of €4,500
There’s more at stake than just eternal glory. First- and second-place prizes will be awarded in three categories: Hardest Hack, Weirdest Hack, and Most Techy Hack. With a total prize pool of €4,500, there’s plenty to compete for!

Learn how to hack
You don’t need any hacking experience. That’s why we’ll teach you the ins and outs of hacking on 10 November during our Masterclass & hack-demo. Be there to learn how to pitch your hack to system owners and the jury and secure your spot for the hack days.
