Advanced Safety and Security Course HEAT+ (Hostile Environment Awareness Training)
The Advanced Safety and Security Course HEAT+ (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) prepares you for working and travelling in high & extreme risk areas.
Purpose
During this HEAT training you learn and practice the skills needed to operate safely in these areas. This will give you a rational attitude and self-confidence, thus increasing your personal and professional effectiveness in the field.

Advanced Course instead of the Basic Course
The advanced course has all the elements of the Basic Course and more.
Method
The course methods are based on role playing, realistic simulations and a continuous storyline which will keep you submersed in the scenario for four days.
You will be part of a team that will assess a crisis situation in a foreign country. The scenario starts a soon as you arrive at the course location and ends after four days. Theory and practical learning are combined with situation updates that will require action from your team. You will travel to several locations and will be confronted with ethical dilemmas, hostile situations and constant pressure due to insecurity.
During the course the trainers will equip you with the knowledge, tips & tricks and skills to deal with these situations. Regular personal feedback is given to enhance your personal learning. After completion of the course you will be able to handle extreme situations with self-confidence.
A safe learning environment is maintained at all times during the course. There are more than 20 different trainers and actors involved in this course, including a mentor to monitor your personal wellbeing. A large part of the course is situated in a war-torn village on a professional exercise centre.
One year after completing the course, you will receive an e-learning course to refresh your knowledge and skills.
