After a very successful first edition last year, The City of The Hague hosted the second edition of the Hardwear.IO from 20 - 23 September 2016. The Hardwear.IO conference is a first of its kind in the world. Many enthusiastic hackers, researchers, presenters, professionals and university students from all over the world gathered at the HSD Campus to explore and discuss about backdoors, exploits, trust, assurance and attacks on hardware equipment, firmware and related protocols. All the  training sessions, which gave insight in securing hardware, were fully booked.

Programme of the Conference

The Conference was held in the WTC The Hague and was opened by Hans De Vries, Head of National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC-NL). Some of the key note speakers are: Sergey Bratus (Research Associate Professor of Computer Science at Dartmouth College), Milosch Meriac (IoT & Hardware Security Expert), Enno Rey (Founder & Managing Director ERNW GmBH) and Marie Moe (Infosec hero and Infosec Associate Professor at SINTEF). Hardwear.IO was conceptualised to provide the IT and security community with a platform to discuss and solve issues pertaining to hardware security. The objective of the conference revolves around four key concerns in hardware, firmware and related protocols i.e. backdoors, exploits, trust and attacks (BETA).
