Third phase Innovation Pact Greenport West-Holland signed
The third phase of Greenport West-Holland’s Innovation Pact has been signed. The festive signing took place at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, in the presence of the Greenboard. The Innovation Pact drives breakthrough innovations that respond to major challenges such as energy transition, digitalisation and labour issues.
Since its launch in 2018, the Innovation Pact has demonstrated that collaboration results in impact. Over 180 projects with a total turnover of €140 million have been realised. Examples include the Cyber Resilience Centre Greenport, the Fieldlab Vertical Farming, and the practical trials for biodiversity in and around the greenhouse. In the third phase of the pact, Greenport West-Holland is concentrating on new themes such as sustainable energy solutions, artificial intelligence, and circularity.
“The Innovation Pact offers a unique approach where entrepreneurs, researchers and governments combine innovation power,” said deputy for the province of South Holland Meindert Stolk, chairman of Greenport West-Holland.
''This third phase is an important step to keep our region at the forefront of knowledge and innovation internationally.''
Platform for collaboration and growth
The Innovation project brings together companies, knowledge institutions and governments in an active ecosystem where innovation agendas are created and implemented. Pact partners influence the regional innovation agenda and benefit from exclusive access to knowledge, networks and funding.
For the third phase, key players such as the province of South Holland and several private companies have already joined. HSD is also part of this pact due to its involvement in the Cyber Resilience Centre Greenport and the ongoing development of secure by design smart grids and energy chains, including for and with the horticultural sector.
Greenport West-Holland invites companies and organisations to participate. Participation not only grants access to innovation opportunities but also allows companies to influence the future of the horticultural sector.
