On Wednesday 20 December the first High Level Meeting on Information Security took place. This special meeting took place at the historical Council Chamber of the Museum de Gevangenpoort, with a view on the Hofvijver.

Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) of large, vital organizations, like KPN, De Nederlandsche Bank, City of the Hague, Rabobank, CBS en Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam gathered to discuss informally about cross-sectoral themes and challenges. The basis for innovation and professionalisation is, after all, sharing knowledge.

Issues regarding the role, activities and workfield of a CIO and CISO were discussed. Furthermore, learning experiences of recent crises, technological developments, relation to the board, return on security investment, training and exercising your organisation, the international context of information security, standardization and certification, and the relation and role of the Hague Security Delta.

In 2018, there will be a follow-up of these high level meetings, where there also a connection will be made with (smaller) organizations and startups within the HSD network.
