Encouragement crime prevention rewarding

The encouragement towards people and organizations to take preventive action against criminality helps reduce the overall number of criminal assaults. Minister Ivo Opstelten of the Ministry of Security and Justice outlined that such measures have already helped with the reduction of criminality since 2005. Over the past three years, the application of closed-circuit televisions (video cameras & monitors) and electronic payment systems have helped with the reduction of criminal activity by thirty per cent. Innovative solutions in the security domain are key to fight criminality even further. Currently, partners of The Hague Security Delta – businesses, governments and knowledge institutes - work collaboratively on innovative solutions and policy recommendations in the Dutch and European security domain.
