The City of The Hague invites students and organisations to present new ideas to deal with global challenges such as safety & security, energy, climate and food. The best ideas have a chance to win prizes worth 5,000 to 35,000 euros. Concepts that link various disciplines and sectors are preferred.

The Hague Innovators Challenge 2016 is part of the city’s Impact Economy Programme, aiming to bring innovators together with the business community, knowledge institutions and international institutions. A one-time grant of between 10,000 and 35,000 euros can be won by a maximum of three individual organisations. Students can win the Student Prize of between 5,000 and 10,000 euros.

The Hague Innovators Challenge consists of two phases:

Phase 1: Proposals must be submitted before 12:00 on 2 November 2015. A selection committee will then nominate a maximum of six candidates and three students with the best ideas. The nominees will be announced during the Border Sessions Festival on 12 November.

Phase 2: The nominees from phase 1 will have until 16:00 on 4 January 2016 to submit an action plan. The final winners will be chosen by an independent jury and will be announced during Big Improvement Day on 19 January 2016.
