On September 20th, Prinsjesdag (literally translated: Little Prince Day), the Dutch government presented their proposal for next year's budget. Cyber security is one of the important issues in the presented proposals. "Digital security is also financial security. We process our financial transactions digitally, we are used to online shopping and we invest online. Internet and the Dutch economy are connected. Traffic and transport on the road, over water and through the air, everything is connected through digital systems and the internet. Data storage is almost completely digitilized. The Amsterdam Internet Exchange is the largest internet junction in the world. When internet falls down, it has an impact on the whole economy. This is why it is important that we secure this digital pillar and secure our economy."
