European Digital Innovation Hubs 2.0 (EDIH 2.0)

In progress

HSD is a partner in the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) network and plays a leading role in strengthening cybersecurity within EDIH NL 2.0. As chair of the national cybersecurity working group, HSD works together with the five Dutch EDIHs, FME, Koninklijke Metaalunie, Smart Industry and other ecosystem partners to help SMEs accelerate their digital transformation in a secure, resilient and future-proof way.

As cybersecurity is a national priority within EDIH NL 2.0, all five EDIHs contribute to this area. The national Cybersecurity Working Group brings together representatives from the five EDIHs, FME, Koninklijke Metaalunie, Smart Industry and HSD to coordinate and strengthen this joint effort. The working group facilitates knowledge sharing, connects lessons learned and experiences across regions, and encourages smart collaboration and the efficient use of available resources. HSD chairs the working group and supports the EDIHs through knowledge, coordination, and connections with the wider cybersecurity ecosystem.

The collaboration focuses on increasing the digital security of businesses by raising awareness of common cyber risks, supporting companies in taking practical cybersecurity measures, and encouraging the development of secure-by-design products and services. Building on the foundation of EDIH 1.0, the programme expands its focus to include OT security, Secure by Design, AI-related digital challenges, and sector-specific approaches for industrial SMEs.

Through the EDIH network, companies can access practical support to test digital technologies before investing, strengthen digital skills through training and workshops, and receive guidance on cybersecurity, digital resilience, and relevant European regulations such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

By connecting the EDIHs with the broader Dutch cyber ecosystem, including cyber resilience centres and national cybersecurity organisations, HSD helps ensure that SMEs can benefit from shared knowledge, coordinated support and practical actions that contribute to stronger digital resilience across sectors and regions.
