HSD is a partner in the Greenport Horti Campus Katapult programme, an initiative that strengthens the horticulture ecosystem by connecting businesses, education and research to develop the knowledge, skills and talent needed for the future. The programme supports companies in learning, experimenting and innovating in practice, while enabling students and professionals to develop the capabilities required for a rapidly changing sector.

The programme focuses on two key transitions: digitalisation and achieving climate-neutral horticulture by 2030. Across three campuses, Dutch Fresh Port, Horti Science Park, and Flora Campus Westland, including the World Horti Center, businesses, educational institutions, students, and researchers collaborate on innovative solutions for the horticulture sector.

Within the programme, the Greenport Cyber Resilience Centre (CW Greenport) plays a leading role in bringing cybersecurity knowledge and practical experience from the horticultural sector into education. Working with educational institutions, industry partners and Security Delta (HSD), the centre connects real-world cyber challenges with the development of future professionals.

Within the Greenport Horti Campus Katapult programme, this has resulted in the structural integration of digital security into three education programmes: Horticulture & Agribusiness at Hogeschool Inholland Delft, Horti Technics & Management at MBO Westland and Green Business & Logistics at Lentiz MBO Barendrecht. The collaboration started with guest lectures, knowledge sharing and exchanges between lecturers, entrepreneurs and cybersecurity experts. From the 2026–2027 academic year onwards, digital security is being embedded more structurally in the curricula.

The content is closely linked to the realities of the horticultural sector. Students work with topics such as data, energy management, automation, technology and logistics, while learning how cybersecurity affects their future profession. Practical assignments, guest lectures, work placements and projects help students understand not only cyber risks, but also how to work safely with digital systems and data and how organisations can strengthen their digital resilience.

HSD supports the programme with cybersecurity expertise and helps connect knowledge, partners and activities across the different programme lines. This ensures that cybersecurity is considered as part of the wider digital and sustainable transformation of the horticultural sector.

By embedding cybersecurity in education, the programme is building a lasting bridge between education and practice. Future professionals will enter the horticultural sector with the knowledge and skills to contribute to secure digitalisation, resilient organisations and a more cyber-resilient value chain.
