Media Tour: International Journalists Visit HSD Campus During Cyber Security Week
On Monday 17 October, a delegation of Dutch and international journalists visited Security Delta (HSD). They visited the HSD Campus as part of the Cyber Security Week in the Hague, which includes many cyber security events amongst the One Conference and ECSO Cyber Investor Days. It was a great opportunity to meet the journalists and inform them about the innovative programmes and developments the partners within the Dutch security cluster are working on.
The visit kicked off with welcome speeches provided by Joris den Bruinen, General Director of Security Delta (HSD) and Nabile Benali, Campus Manager. They focused on the history & development of the Dutch security cluster, current challenges to secure our digitising society and innovative solutions. The delegation includes journalists from Ukraine, the United States, Syria, Congo, Yemen, Germany, South Korea, Mexico, the Philippines, Italy and The Netherlands.
The kick-off was followed by a Q&A with companies CFLW Cyber Strategies, EYE Security and Prodaft. During the Q&A, the companies focused on various relevant security topics, such as ethical hacking, dark web investigations and cyber resilience in companies.
Investigating the dark web is an activity in which CFLW Cyber Strategies is specialised. Earlier, founder Mark van Staalduinen was interviewed about how the digital transformation created opportunities but also threats, and how his company is monitoring the dark web to limit these threats.
On the other hand, Prodaft focuses on cyber threat intelligence and talked about the topic of APTs and organized cybercrime groups. Read more about Prodaft here and why it chooses not to focus on collecting intelligence from cyber-underground forum posts, but instead chooses to focus more on importance of collecting intelligence from attack infrastructures used by hacker groups.
The gathering ended with a visit to the IoT Forensic Lab of Leiden University of Applied Sciences. The lab is used for digital forensic research and practical training on forensic ICT.
This visit is part of various activities taking place during the Cyber Security Week. Find more information about the various events and activities here.
