We would like to invite you to our next HSD Café during the Cyber Security Week on Thursday 16 April on “Ethical Hacking and Responsible Disclosure”. In case you have not done so already, you can register here.

The HSD Café is dedicated to discussing the issues and opportunities surrounding ethical hacking and responsible disclosure. First, we assess the situation in the Netherlands. Then we zoom in on ethical hacking Then we zoom in on ethical hacking. Ethical hackers have the authorization to penetrate computer systems or networks, which allows organisations to patch up network vulnerabilities and continuously develop their IT security framework. Unauthorized hacks, however, pose a significant threat to an organisation’s information security and reputation if the holes in their network are revealed to the public. Moreover, hackers who operate without required licensing and permission face criminal prosecution. How can hacks be used to strengthen computer systems without compromising corporate security or discouraging hackers to reveal network vulnerabilities to respective organisations? Responsible disclosure is one solution to this problem, which will be discussed during a one-hour panel discussion with four experts.

The HSD Café is set up as follows:
from 16:00 until 16:20, four speakers will briefly introduce the topic of this HSD Café:

• Mr. Michael Gesner van der Voort, Dionach, will present on Ethical Hacking
• Mr. Dick Schoof, NCTV, will present on Responsible Disclosure

The presentations will be followed by a discussion during which questions can be answered. From 17:00 onwards there will be drinks and networking opportunities.

About the HSD Café
The HSD Cafés are organised for HSD partners on every first and third Thursday of each month (except on public holidays). From cyber security, drones to critical infrastructure, 20 sessions will be organised around security topics relevant for businesses, governments, and knowledge institutions. In the first hour (16.00-17.00) of each HSD Café, experts will briefly present a security topic, dilemma, or innovation, followed by an informal discussion. The second part of the HSD Café (17.00-17.45) will consist of drinks and a possibility to network.

The HSD Cafés provide an excellent opportunity to meet (potential) business partners, bring along your contacts, expand your knowledge, and shape the debate on key security issues of the future. Tell us what you think. Let your voice count, expand your network, and join the debate!
