NWO Call KIC Mission Subversive Crime: Up to €3.4 Million per Project (Consortium)

The NWO Call KIC Mission Subversive Crime contributes to the overarching objectives of the 2020-2023 Knowledge and Innovation Agenda Security (KIA Veiligheid) and the underlying Multi-year Mission driven Innovation Programmes (MMIPs). The call allows Interdisciplinary consortia of research institutes (including applied sciences) and public and private organisations to submit proposals with a total budget of at least € 637.500 and at most € 3.400.000 per project (consortium). The Subversive Crime programme aims to develop knowledge of the foundations, drivers, mechanisms and structures of undermining criminal phenomena, systems, networks and modus operandi.

The ambition is to increase the overall visibility of illegal activities and cash flows to such an extent that subversive crime becomes too risky and no longer pays. The necessary knowledge for these results feeds, and is also fed by the development of new action perspectives, intervention possibilities, (technological) tools and methods. Through an integrated approach from the technical, social and humanities disciplines throughout the knowledge chain, subversive crime is reduced and the resilience of citizens, the business community and public administration is increased.

Full, associate and assistant professors, lectors, and other researchers with a comparable position may act as main or co‐applicant.

NWO call KIC Missie Ondermijnende Criminaliteit

De NWO call KIC Missie Ondermijnende Criminaliteit draagt bij aan de overkoepelende doelstelling van de Kennis- en Innovatieagenda (KIA) 2020-2023 Veiligheid en de onderliggende meerjarige Missiegedreven Innovatie Programma’s (MMIPs). Deze call biedt de mogelijkheid voor interdisciplinaire consortia van kennisinstellingen, publieke en private partners om voorstellen in te dienen met een totale omvang van minimaal € 637.500 en maximaal € 3.400.000 per project/consortium. Het programma Ondermijnende Criminaliteit heeft als doel om kennis te ontwikkelen over de grondslagen, drijfveren, mechanismen en structuren van ondermijnende criminele fenomenen, systemen, netwerken en modus operandi.

De ambitie is dat het zicht op illegale activiteiten en geldstromen zodanig wordt verhoogd, dat ondermijnende criminaliteit te riskant is en niet loont. De benodigde kennis om hiertoe te komen voedt, en wordt tegelijk ook gevoed door de ontwikkeling van nieuwe handelingsperspectieven, interventiemogelijkheden, (technologische) instrumenten en werkwijzen. Door een integrale aanpak vanuit de technische, sociale en geesteswetenschappelijke disciplines door de hele kennisketen heen wordt ondermijnende criminaliteit teruggedrongen en de weerbaarheid van burgers, het bedrijfsleven en het openbaar bestuur vergroot.

De deadline voor het indienen van vooraanmeldingen is 21 april 2022, de deadline voor het indienen van volledige aanvragen is 6 oktober 2022. Hoogleraren, universitair (hoofd)docenten, lectoren, en andere onderzoekers met een vergelijkbare functie mogen als hoofd- of medeaanvrager optreden.
