On 22 May the Dutch Institute for Technology, Safety & Security (DITSS) will organise several brainstorm sessions on security in Brabant. During this event, representatives from businesses, universities, knowledge institutes, and governments will be asked to come up with innovative solutions for several security issues in this province. The event will take place in Eindhoven. A jury will decide on the best and most practicable solutions. The winners will be given the opportunity to present their ideas in a field lab in Brabant.

The three main security issues that will be discussed at this event are:

  • The demand for safe and secure ways local governments can register and store data: resistant to errors and abuse;
  • The demand for a better and more timely understanding of risks created by industrial hazardous substances and processes;
  • The demand for proactive instruments that could be used in the fight against crime in Brabant: sensing, monitoring, data mining, using big data and other possible instruments.
