The Hatch Firm and InnovationQuarter Invest € 1.5 Million in Mobile Security Platform Onegini
On 30 November Deputy Mayor of The Hague Ingrid van Engelshoven unveiled InnovationQuarter’s newest investment in the field of Safety & Security. HSD partner Onegini, provider of the eponymous mobile security platform, is growing strongly, and expects that the capital injection of € 1.5 million from The Hatch Firm and InnovationQuarter (IQ) will accelerate their international ambitions. In addition to office locations in Woerden (The Netherlands) and Gdansk (Poland), Onegini will also be opening an office very soon at the HSD Campus, the national innovation centre for security of the largest security cluster in Europe. IQ is the regional development agency for the Province of South Holland, and includes The Hague.
Fast and safe ‘go-to-market’ strategy for mobile apps
With the innovative software solutions from fintech company Onegini, organisations can quickly and safely develop mobile consumer apps and bring them on the market. The Onegini solutions include the ability to make transactions with one click, and to log in with a PIN, fingerprint, face recognition, voice recognition or other future web and mobile authentication methods. Onegini technology offers banking-grade security at a low cost, and speeds the development and deployment of applications by 500%.
With the increasing threat of cyber attacks, cyber security for businesses is increasingly important. Onegini technology makes it manageable, and can proactively detect abuse, preventing data leakage and fraud.
Onegini’s momentum
"The new investors enable Onegini to scale up international sales, marketing and partnering," said CEO Denis Joannides. He continued: "What makes us particularly appealing is our knowledge and networks which we use to support companies to develop successfully."
With its mobile security platform, the Dutch software company has been able within a period of three years since their incorporation to attract customers such as AEGON, IAK Insurance, UMG (Universal Music Group), Van Lanschot Bank, Belgacom, Nationale-Nederlanden, and the Dutch Railways. "We are proud of the fact that good security has enabled these companies to accelerate their online strategy. More and more customers, including across the border, see the added value of our software."
Onegini’s awards
Recognition of Onegini’s security solutions is reflected in the various awards the company has recently won. These include: Most Promising API Solution Provider by CIOReview, and listings in the Red Herring Top 100 Europe and Red Herring Top 100 Global. Additionally, Onegini is the first Dutch software company to be officially certified by the Secure Software Foundation, an initiative of the government to stimulate and support the development of secure software solutions.
Investing in cyber security
As a specialist in mobile security, Onegini is focused on expansion outside The Netherlands. Onegini has found two strong investors to realize this ambition, namely InnovationQuarter and The Hatch Firm.
Rudy de Back, Co-founder and Managing Partner of The Hatch Firm, stated: "Onegini has proven its ability to deliver a crucial component for digital transformation. Onegini allows companies and governments to bring their mobile strategies to the export market in a safe way. The Hatch Firm is confident that Onegini - based on its products and talented founders - can grow to become a global leader in the field of consumer data. Their technology allows mobile apps to be unlocked in a secure and authenticated manner."
"It's great that Onegini is joining The Hague Security Delta and will settle at the HSD Campus. Once again, it’s strengthening our Dutch security cluster”, said Francis Quint, Head of InnovationQuarter Capital. "We look forward to working with Onegini, and The Hatch Firm. With their state-of-the-art mobile security solution, Onegini is already very successful in The Netherlands. With the investments from The Hatch Firm and InnovationQuarter, Onegini can now realise their international expansion plans.
