A consortium of Dutch companies and knowledge institutions visited Japan from 11 to 16 December 2016 to strengthen their bilateral relations. The purpose of this visit was to exchange knowledge and develop solutions for the protection of vital social infrastructures.

Through the collaboration, both countries aim to strengthen their market position. Main goals are the protection of the energy-, water and telecom sector. The cyber security of financial services and autonomous vehicles are also focus points for the consortium. The consortium furthermore aims at increasing and strengthening capacity building and research between Dutch and Japanese knowledge institutions. These ambitions are in line with the access to market strategies of HSD and are welcomed in Japan because of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020.
