On 27 November, the Dutch Cyber Security Council visited Security Delta (HSD) for a comprehensive working visit focused on deepening collaboration in the field of cybersecurity. Arie Jan de Waard (Chairmen HSD Supervisory Board) and Joris den Bruinen (General director HSD) welcomed the members and shared the mission, method of operation and results of the Dutch Security Cluster.
Special attention was paid to operating successful public-private collaborations around talent, capital4growth and ‘secure by design’ innovation & cyber resilience programming. Moreover we had a dialogue about the intended growthpath towards a National Cyber Campus/House of Cyber and the 'Wennink advice' about future economic growth of The Netherlands.
Demonstrating Impact and Innovation
After the conversation in the boardroom, the Cyber Security Council members joined a guided tour through the HSD Campus. They spoke with Tom Wolters and Jan Willem Veldhuis from Akasec about their Dutch cybersecurity company and their offensive (software) tooling for advanced persistent threats and their role in the public private ‘cyberroom’ during the recent NATO Summit in The Hague.
In addition they dropped by the Digital Forensics Lab of the Leiden University of Applied Sciences. Lecturer and researcher Jos Griffioen explained how the lab helps to cultivate the next generation of digital forensics talent. He demonstrated the use of the international tool 'Hansken', NFI's cutting-edge forensic technology for analysing vast amounts of digital information. Both of them explained how partnerships and being at HSD Campus added value to them and the shared goal on ’securing the future together’.
