Companies Wanted for Hack the Power Grid: Put Your Energy Systems to the Test
On 24 November and 3 December 2026, Hack the Power Grid will put energy technologies to the test, giving companies the opportunity to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen the cybersecurity of their products. Organised by The Green Village and the Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure (DIVD), around 30 students and 15 professional ethical hackers will work to uncover security vulnerabilities in energy-related technologies, including energy management systems and home batteries.
Companies are still invited to take part! A limited number of places remain available for organisations wishing to have their hardware and/or software tested free of charge. The event offers an opportunity to discover potential weaknesses, improve the digital security of energy solutions and gain valuable insights from cybersecurity experts.
The first edition, held in 2025, resulted in more than 20 reported vulnerabilities, highlighting the value of testing energy technologies in a controlled environment.
As connected energy systems become increasingly important, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities is essential to protecting the reliability and security of energy infrastructure.
