New Calls for Proposals EU Horizon2020 Programme Secure Societies

On 1 March 2017, the European Commission will publish the calls for proposals H2020-CIP2017 under the societal challenge Secure Societies – Protecting freedom and security of Europe and its citizens. In order to give more details with regards to these calls for proposals, an event will be organised which will take place on 6 and 7 March 2017 in the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Brussels. This event is organised by the Network of Secure Societies National Contact Points – SEREN3. More information about this event can be found here.


In addition, HSD will in collaboration with RVO and the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice organise an information session regarding the Horizon 2020 Secure Societies call. This information session will take place 30 March, for more information see this event. There are 16 topics in the investigation agenda of Horizon 2020 Societies call with a total budget of 200 million euro. The 16 topics are listed below:



Prevention, detection, response and mitigation of the combination of physical and cyber threats to the critical infrastructure of Europe.


Broadband communication systems


Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) cluster


Human Factor for the Prevention, Investigation, and Mitigation of criminal and terrorist acts

SEC-09-FCT -2017

Toolkits integrating tools and techniques for forensic laboratories


Integration of detection capabilities and data fusion with utility providers’ networks


Technologies for prevention, investigation, and mitigation in the context of fight against crime and terrorism


Next generation of information systems to support EU external policies


Risk-based screening at border crossing


Through-foliage detection, including in the outermost regions of the EU


Architectures and organizations, big data and data analytics for customs risk management of the international goods supply chain trade movements


Acceptance of "no gate crossing point solutions"


Pan European Networks of practitioners and other actors in the field of security




Addressing Advanced Cyber Security Threats and Threat Actors
