Building a cyber resilient future – together

Accenture’s main objective of becoming part of the Dutch security cluster is to realise their vision to build a cyber resilient future together. They believe that collaboration and knowledge sharing are key to bringing this vision to life and that becoming part of HSD gives them the opportunity to join forces with leading security partners, while also expanding their network and visibility.

"If there is one thing that the dynamic, rapidly changing digital world has revealed, it is that companies – even competitors – need to work together" says Michael Teichmann, Market Unit Security Director BeNeLux & France.

OT threat landscape is shifting

Accenture Security has noticed a shift in the threat landscape for OT networks. While Accenture Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) regularly discusses complex and state-sponsored attacks, they have noticed an increase in commodity malware, especially ransomware, being used to target Operational Technology (OT) networks. The increase of virtualisation of operational technologies, the increase in cloud connectivity for OT systems and the increase in internet-connected devices are the three technical changes observed by Accenture that may enable threat actors to thrive.

Michael: “Extending modern technologies into critical infrastructure reflect new opportunities and innovation, but it also opens new avenues of attack. Since rewards are high, threat actors continue to innovate. Sharing best practices, standardising and building resilience is therefore key.”

HSD is very pleased with Accenture Security having joined the cluster and is looking forward to contributing to a more secure world together.
