German Delegation Led by Minister Daniela Schmitt Visits HSD Campus During Cybersecurity Week 2025
On the final day of Cybersecurity Week 2025, a German delegation led by Rhineland-Palatinate Economics Minister Daniela Schmitt visited the HSD Campus. This visit highlighted the strong and growing ties between the Netherlands and Germany in strengthening cybersecurity resilience and driving innovation.
Rhineland-Palatinate is a preferred location for information technology and multimedia. Around 60 companies are active in the IT location of Koblenz, in addition to a great deal of scientific know-how. Moreover, applied AI is being actively promoted in Rhineland-Palatinate – for example by BASF, John Deere, and Boehringer Ingelheim. Medium-sized companies are also using and developing AI methods.
The visit began with an official welcome by Joris den Bruinen, Director of Security Delta (HSD), followed by an opening address from State Minister Daniela Schmitt, who introduced the German delegation and outlined the goals of their visit. Both speakers emphasised the importance of international collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of cybersecurity.
Following the opening session, the programme featured a series of presentations on pressing topics, including capabilities and safety in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). These sessions provided an opportunity to exchange insights and foster mutual understanding between Dutch and German experts.

The delegation’s visit during the final day of the Cybersecurity week 2025 marked another step in strengthening cross-border collaboration on cybersecurity between the Netherlands and Germany.
