Trends in Security Information
The HSD Trendmonitor is designed to provide access to relevant content on various subjects in the safety and security domain, to identify relevant developments and to connect knowledge and organisations. The safety and security domain encompasses a vast number of subjects. Four relevant taxonomies (type of threat or opportunity, victim, source of threat and domain of application) have been constructed in order to visualize all of these subjects. The taxonomies and related category descriptions have been carefully composed according to other taxonomies, European and international standards and our own expertise.
In order to identify safety and security related trends, relevant reports and HSD news articles are continuously scanned, analysed and classified by hand according to the four taxonomies. This results in a wide array of observations, which we call ‘Trend Snippets’. Multiple Trend Snippets combined can provide insights into safety and security trends. The size of the circles shows the relative weight of the topic, the filters can be used to further select the most relevant content for you. (Pre-) Primary/secondary education
Pre-primary school, more commonly known as preschool, is a school for children between the ages of two and four. For most children, preschool is the first time that they are separated from their parents for a longer period of time. In the Netherlands, pre-primary education is not obligatory, but most parents choose to enrol their children in preschool either way. It is highly recommended to enrol your children in a preschool, as it is considered to be an effective way of teaching children how to interact with others, as well as a useful preparation for primary school.
Primary education in the Netherlands takes place in primary school, which has eight grades. Children enter the first grade at age four and leave primary school when they are around twelve years old. In the eighth grade, by means of a final examination and advise of the teacher, the education level of the student is assessed. Consequently, the education path that the student will follow during their secondary education is chosen. In the Netherlands there are three secondary education paths, namely VMBO (pre-vocational secondary education), HAVO (higher general secondary education) and VWO (pre-university education).
It has to be noted that the description of (pre)primary and secondary education is based on the education system in the Netherlands and does not reflect the structure of education systems from other countries.
