The annual expert conference DEX XL will take place on 17–18 March 2026 in the Netherlands. Organised by the digital community of Dutch law enforcement and security agencies, DEX XL brings together professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest developments in digital security and investigation.

For the first time, DEX XL 2026 will feature a dedicated DEX XL Science track. This new addition aims to strengthen the dialogue between researchers and end users by combining scientific insights with operational experience. The goal is to stimulate collaborative, practice-oriented research that directly supports digital investigative work.

The DEX XL Science 2026 track will focus on digital investigations. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:

  • techniques in digital forensics, such as forensic analysis, data representation, data mining, and the use of AI in forensic applications;

  • legal aspects of digital investigations, including privacy, admissibility and authenticity of digital evidence;

  • theoretical perspectives on digital investigations, such as investigative models, methods and concepts.

DEX XL continues to serve as a key platform for interagency cooperation and knowledge exchange, and the introduction of the Science track marks an important step in further connecting research, policy and practice within the digital security domain.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit their contributions or inquiries via
