Team Europe wins the first edition of the International Cybersecurity Challenge, organised by European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). Hackers from a total of 65 countries from 6 continents (resulting in 7 teams) joined. With this competition, young talents are encouraged to choose cybersecurity as a career path.

After more than one year of preparations and training in Tallinn, Turin, The Hague, and Vienna, it all came together last week in Athens, where the cybersecurity talents played jeopardy challenges and attack and defense for two days. "It was stressful and pretty intense sometimes, but team Europe was focused and rocking till the end of the competition", according to coach Sanne Maasakkers from Nationaal Cyber Security Centrum (NCSC-NL). Danique Lummen and Rick de Jager from The Netherlands were part of team Europe.

Danique, one of the Team Captains: "We are really happy to be part of this fantastic event. It was great to compete in the ICC with all the other great teams from all over the world. We are also very happy and proud that we won the first place and we look forward to be part of the next ICC in the US”.
