Cybersecurity Week 2026: The Hague Once Again Puts Cybersecurity Firmly on the Agenda

The first week of October will see The Hague turn its attention to cybersecurity. This year’s Cybersecurity Week features more than fifteen events, ranging from international conferences and networking events to activities for residents, businesses, students and children.

The diversity of the programme reflects just how broad the field of cybersecurity has become. It affects the economy, innovation, research, government and everyday life. At the same time, the week highlights The Hague’s unique position as an international city of cybersecurity. A growing number of public and private organisations, knowledge institutions and cybersecurity professionals in the city work closely together on digital security, innovation, talent development and cyber resilience. Cybersecurity Week brings this unique network together each year.

From International Expertise to Digital Security in the City

Cybersecurity Week brings together a wide range of communities. International cybersecurity professionals come together at the ONE Conference, one of Europe’s leading cybersecurity conferences. Entrepreneurs, investors and international companies connect through various business and networking events. Knowledge, talent and innovation also play an important role. During the new The Hague Policy Hackathon, students will work on current cybersecurity challenges, while 120 ethical hackers will put the municipality’s digital systems to the test during Hâck the Hague.

At the same time, the week has a strong focus on the city itself. During HackShield in the library, children are introduced to digital safety in an engaging and accessible way, while residents and SMEs receive practical guidance on how to better protect themselves against cyber incidents. In this way, Cybersecurity Week brings together different audiences and perspectives, from residents and entrepreneurs to students, ethical hackers and international cybersecurity professionals.

One Week, Many Perspectives

In doing so, The Hague once again underlines its position as the city of Peace, Justice and Security,” says Richard de Mos, Alderman for Economic Affairs and Cybersecurity at the Municipality of The Hague.

Cybersecurity Week therefore provides a platform not only for knowledge and innovation, but also for connecting people, fostering collaboration and strengthening cyber resilience. The Municipality of The Hague organises the week together with partners from across the city and beyond.
