The Hague Innovation Hubs Join Forces with a Joint Action Agenda for The Hague

The Hague-based innovation hubs Unknown Group, Security Delta (HSD), Campus@Sea, The Hague Tech and The Hague Humanity Hub jointly presented an action agenda to Alderman Richard de Mos on Prinsjesdag, and through him to the municipal executive of The Hague. After ten years of developing their individual innovation ecosystems from The Hague, the organisations are now joining forces to further strengthen the city’s position as an innovative and future-proof city.

The Hague has a strong international position as the City of Peace, Justice and Security. Innovation is essential to maintaining and further strengthening this position in the future. The innovation hubs therefore aim to work together with the municipality to achieve concrete results that stimulate innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth in the city.

The action agenda focuses on five joint actions:

1. European Defence & Security Week

From April 2027 onwards, The Hague will annually provide an international stage for a week dedicated to defence and security. Various events will be brought together to connect businesses, governments, knowledge institutions, talent and investors.

2. Labs as drivers for scaling innovation

The Hague’s living labs help businesses move from experimentation to implementation and develop scalable business cases. Innovations are tested in real-world settings and showcased to the market and investors.

3. Secure decentralised energy hubs

By combining local energy solutions, digitalisation and cybersecurity, the partners contribute to solutions for grid congestion. Smart, locally managed energy networks create room for businesses in The Hague to grow while also generating new economic opportunities.

4. Humanity Open Innovation Campus

The Humanity Open Innovation Campus brings together international organisations and knowledge institutions to strengthen their collective impact and further reinforce The Hague’s position as an international knowledge city in the field of Peace, Justice and Security.

5. The Hague Entrepreneurship Centre

The Hague Entrepreneurship Centre brings together educational institutions and public and private-sector organisations to encourage entrepreneurship among students and young people. This will provide new entrepreneurs and innovators with greater opportunities to develop in The Hague.

The action agenda is not only about ambitions, but above all about implementation. We look forward to further collaboration with the Municipality of The Hague and our partners to turn these ambitions into concrete results and work together towards an innovative, resilient and economically strong city.
