Last Thursday the HSD Young community kicked off with its first gathering. 15 young and enthusiastic safety and security professionals came to visit this first event. After a welcoming word by the HSD management and a short introduction of the why and what of this new community by Koen Hoogers from HSD and Asela Popalziy from Signpost Six, the stage was given to the young professionals to shortly introduce him or herself to the group.

At this premier event Pieter Jansen, CEO and founder of Cybersprint was invited to come and speak. As a successful entrepreneur Pieter shared his story and experience as a start up founder and elaborated his vison on why networking is important. His message: “Start every conversation with an open mind and try to pick up a positive trait from everyone you speak to.”

Following Pieter’s presentation, the group engaged in lively discussions. Connections were made and ideas and plans for the future were shared by the group, buzzing with energy. After this successful first meeting at the HSD Campus, HSD Young continued with drinks and bites at Plein, while having great discussion about the future of our community.

The next event will be during the Cyber Security Week in September. In the meantime young professionals interested in participating in this vibrant network can stay up to date through joining the LinkedIn group Young HSD Community.

Thanks to everyone who attended, we hope to see you again at our next event!
