SMEs also have the opportunity to get MIT South funding for their innovation project in 2019. The MIT is a national arrangement that is executed per region. The Southern region (the provinces of Limburg, Brabant and Zeeland) already published their openings. Other regions will follow soon.

For whom is this funding applicable?

SMEs in South Holland that want to start innovating can submit projects with a focus on:

Feasibility project

The research and the analysis of the technical and economic potential of a project, with the goal of supporting the decision-making by objectively and rationally highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats while also showing what means are necessary to execute the project and what eventually will be the chances of succeeding.

R&D Partnership project

This involves (a minimum of two) cooperating SMEs, possibly with a knowledge institution. A MIT-R&D-partnership project is focussed on the development or renewal of products, production processes or services. The project consists of industrial research and/or experimental development. The funding for a R&D cooperation project is 35% of the fundable costs, up to a maximum of 350.000 per application.

The dates of the openings are as follows:

  • ‘Feasibility’ from 9 April 2019 9.00 hrs to 10 September 17.00 hrs, based on first come first serve
  • ‘R&D Cooperation’ from 11 June 2019 9.00 hrs to 10 September 17.00 hrs, based on tendering

Applications

Applying for MIT South is only possible via the digital portal.

Scope

The MIT South is focussed on the innovative SME. Within the scope of the Feasibility projects, individual SMEs can apply. For R&D Cooperation projects, the arrangements are open for partnerships that consist of at least two SMEs. Only SMEs can apply for subsidy.
