The third HiTMaT call is open. The HiTMaT is a competition between the best R&D proposals for high-tech public-private partnerships that offer solutions for the societal themes and missions of the Netherlands. In 2020, 60 research proposals were submitted, of which 15 were nominated and eventually 10 projects were awarded €25,000. Who has the best ideas this year? The deadline for submitting applications is 18 May 2021.

Award of €25,000

Research organisations (definition: RVO) can win €25,000 for the start of a public-private R&D cooperation project. This collaborative project must be carried out by at least two participants. A Dutch research organisation must submit a HiTMaT proposal as the main applicant. At least one Dutch company should be a co-applicant.

If the entrepreneur represents an SME that plays a substantial role in this collaborative project, an additional budget of up to € 10,000 (for the research organisation) can be requested.

The HiTMaT call focuses on five societal themes:

  • Health and healthcare
  • Climate and circular economy
  • Safety
  • Mobility
  • Agriculture, water and food

In their KIA 2018-2021, the TKI HTSM and the top sector HTSM have listed the innovation challenges per societal theme. These themes are related to the new mission-driven government policy in which socially relevant themes are shaped into missions and knowledge innovation agendas (KIAs).

Project proposals can be submitted as of 7 April via the Holland High Tech website. The deadline for submitting applications is 18 May 2021, 2pm CEST.
