Trends in Security Information
The HSD Trendmonitor is designed to provide access to relevant content on various subjects in the safety and security domain, to identify relevant developments and to connect knowledge and organisations. The safety and security domain encompasses a vast number of subjects. Four relevant taxonomies (type of threat or opportunity, victim, source of threat and domain of application) have been constructed in order to visualize all of these subjects. The taxonomies and related category descriptions have been carefully composed according to other taxonomies, European and international standards and our own expertise.
In order to identify safety and security related trends, relevant reports and HSD news articles are continuously scanned, analysed and classified by hand according to the four taxonomies. This results in a wide array of observations, which we call ‘Trend Snippets’. Multiple Trend Snippets combined can provide insights into safety and security trends. The size of the circles shows the relative weight of the topic, the filters can be used to further select the most relevant content for you. There is a need for certifications of cyber security and compliance monitoring
Hudson Cybertec, specialised in cyber security for Industrial Automation & Control Systems (IACS), is part of the Kiwa Group as from May 5th 2021. With this participation, Kiwa – a leading independent testing, inspection and certification organisation – aims to expand its presence in the cyber security market, whereas Hudson Cybertec will profit from Kiwa’s worldwide network and expertise in the field of certification.
The two 100% Dutch companies are fully complementary in their services and have a strong synergy. Together they position themselves as a full service provider in the field of cyber security and (product) certifications to ensure secure primary processes of companies and organisations at home and abroad. As a cyber security services provider with a focus on Operational Technology (OT), Hudson Cybertec supports organisations across the globe by making them ‘digitally resilient’ by means of its Industrial Automatisation & Control Systems. With its integral and pragmatic approach, having a strong focus on people, process and technology, Hudson Cybertec provides the market with a wide range of independent cyber security audits and assessments, OT network & compliance monitoring and consultancy. Moreover, the company is closely involved in the development of the IEC 62443 standard and recognised as a Subject Matter Expert worldwide. Hudson Cybertec remains an independent corporation and will continue to deliver services under its own brand.
Kiwa has a long track record in the field of cyber security, including services related to certifications, such as GDPR/AVG and the international standards IEC 62443 and ISO 27000. The close involvement of Hudson Cybertec’s cyber security experts with the development of the IEC 62443 standard complements this. Kiwa will have access to its in-depth expertise about cyber security for industrial automatisation and control systems, and Hudson Cybertec profits from the growth potential and is able to strengthen its market position.
Hudson Cybertec’s Managing Director Marcel Jutte is happy to join forces with Kiwa and by doing so, making the Netherlands (and other countries) more cyber resilient: “Technological and social developments as well as national and international regulations are constantly evolving. In combination with the growing connectivity and complexity of processes in the public and private sector, this stresses the need for certifications of cyber security and compliance monitoring”.
Ron Scheepers, Executive Vice President at Kiwa: “For over 70 years, Kiwa is certifying products and processes based on quality, safety and sustainability and we are extending our activities in the field of cyber security. Certifications of IT and OT systems show that risks related to cyber security can be managed and this is a reassurance for our clients and end-users. Hudson Cybertec’s expertise in this field perfectly fits with our ambitions in the field of cyber security. This collaboration enables us to combine the in-depth knowledge of Hudson Cybertec with our expertise in several national and international markets.
