Looking Back at ONE Conference 2025
What a 2-day congress it was! The ONE Conference 2025 brought together 2.400 unique visitors from all over the world with the aim to share knowledge and make new connections within the international cybersecurity community. The conference was opened by Jan van Zanen (Mayor of the Municipality of The Hague), Dick Schoof (Dutch Prime Minister), and Matthijs van Amelsfort (Director National Cyber Security Center of The Netherlands). They emphasised the need for strategic autonomy and collaboration.
Also the 5-year collaboration with Forum INCYBER (FIC) and Campus Cyber in France were celebrated on stage with Joffrey Célestin-Urbain, Leah Postma and Guillaume Tissier. The second day Foort van Oosten, Dutch Demissionary Minister of Jusitice & Security welcomed the visitors. Followed by a keynote of Kris Lovejoy, Global Practice Leader for Security and Resiliency at Kyndryl. She emphasised the need to prepare our workforce for AI.

This year, the programme was more diverse than ever before, spread across 10 rooms featuring talks, workshops, panels, deep dives and other interactive set-ups. In addition, visitors could also join many interactive activities:
- The Expo featured 30 innovative start-ups, that showcased their innovations, amongst HSD partners CyberPeace Institute, Digicorp Labs/DigitThree Labs, Livedrop and P-X Systems.
- The ONE Talent Hub, where young professionals and talent organisations came to together to connect, inspire, and explore new opportunities.
- Matchmaking programme, with all-important networking moments, from the networking lunch and drinks to a brand-new matchmaking app.
- Capital Area, where innovation met funding.
- CWN Level up zone, the place where experts were challenged with lockpicking, capture the flag and arcade games.

Knowledge Sessions & Speakers
Over 100 knowledge sessions about 8 different topics were part of the programme, with speakers from all over the world. Amongst the spreakers were several HSD partners, including Attic Security, Modat, Bureau Veritas Group, Booz Allen, ON2IT Cybersecurity, Darktrace, Siemens, HackShield Future Cyber Heroes, Openbaar Ministerie, Politie Nederland, TNO, TU Delft, Universiteit Leiden, Hogeschool Saxion, Hogeschool Leiden, Nederlands Forensisch Instituut, Z-CERT, Nationaal Cyber Security Centrum (NCSC-NL), Gemeente Den Haag, CyberPeace Institute.

Cyber Competence Shortages
HSD also made a contribution to the programme through a presentation by Mark Ruijsendaal as part of the 'CADMUS programme'. The session entitled “Cyber Competence Shortages in Europe and Solutions” focused on the growing shortage of cybersecurity skills in Europe and explore concrete initiatives being implemented to address this issue. This year, the ONE Conference also launched the ONE Podcast. A brand-new series where the organisers go beyond the conference and take a deeper dive into the key themes of the ONE Conference.
